What do you need for Trekking or Tracking Gorillas Chimpanzees and Golden Monkeys?
What do you need for Trekking or Tracking Gorillas Chimpanzees and Golden Monkeys; Just got back from Uganda trekking for chimps, gorillas, and golden monkeys in Uganda Africa.
(in the photo here I am laying approximately 9 ft. from this adorable chimp who simply got tired of me taking photos and laid down to catch a nap) and thought it would be helpful if you are thinking of doing such a dream come true adventure you would appreciate knowing…
Gorilla trekking can be very tiresome and you need to refill yourself as the trek goes on. It is advisable to take a few water salts or chews before you go on a trek.
You will need good waterproof comfortable shoes or boots. Sometimes it rains during the trek, so skidproof shoes can come in handy.
You are advised to carry a rain jacket because it rains frequently in Bwindi’s Impenetrable forest.
You can carry a light snack to give you some energy during the walk in the forest.
TROUSERS AND SHIRTS
Bwindi Forest, for example, is covered with thick undergrowth, therefore light trousers and long-sleeved shirts are advised.
You will have to tuck your trousers into your socks to avoid insects from crawling inside particularly safari ants.
