The 1-Day Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Tour details

In the morning, we will transfer to Entebbe by 8:30 am, then make arrangements before boarding a motorised or speedboat to the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

First, you will cruise across the waters of Lake Victoria for one hour to reach the site. Upon your arrival, the island staff will welcome you and provide educational information about the Sanctuary.

Quick Note on the Sanctuary

You can choose between the morning and afternoon feeding sessions to suit your schedule. During these times, you will see the chimpanzees up close from a raised visitor platform while listening to an informative talk by the sanctuary staff.
You should enjoy your lunch at the Sanctuary, as the staff prohibits food on the Island.
This Sanctuary is the only place that allows children under 12 to visit the chimpanzees. Consequently, families with younger children can enjoy a rare and exciting wildlife encounter together.

Options to stay longer at the Sanctuary;

You can engage in various activities at the Sanctuary, such as kayaking, bird-watching, and wildlife encounters. Additionally, you can swim at the equator, visit a neighbouring fishing village, or spend the afternoon sunbathing and relaxing.
