2 Days Kibale Chimpanzee Tour – Chimpanzee Tracking Safari with a Bigodi Wetland Nature Walk.

Experience a 2-day Kibale Chimpanzee Tracking Safari, a specialised package that leads you deep into the heart of the Kibale rainforest. Once inside the canopy, you will come face-to-face with habituated chimpanzees in their natural habitat.

As you observe these primates, you will quickly notice how many of their behaviours mirror our own. For instance, watch as loved ones greet each other with warm hugs and kisses, showcasing the incredible social bond we share with our closest relatives.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

After your guide picks you up from the airport or your Hotel, drive west through the city toward Fort Portal. Once you arrive, enjoy lunch in this vibrant town. As you explore the area, immerse yourself in Uganda’s diverse cultures; here, the Batooro people of the Toro Kingdom dominate the region with their unique traditions and beliefs.

After lunch, drive to Bigodi Village, located just past the Kanyanchu Chimpanzee Tracking Centre. Once you arrive, join a guided nature walk through the Bigodi Swamp to explore the local ecosystem and its diverse wildlife.

Later, we shall link up with a community where we’ll engage in local activities such as making coffee, banana gin, or beer. We shall then return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking Forest Activity Day.

Have breakfast, then head to the Park headquarters and make sure to be there before 8:00 am. It will enable us to contact the Park Rangers for a general briefing before the tracking. The rangers will then lead you into the wild Forest and go look out for the great apes.

Chimpanzees are man’s closest relatives, and when you find them, you’ll enjoy watching them do their thing. You’ll have an hour to observe and take photos of the apes. However, the tracking activity takes 1 to 4 hours.

After the excursion, we shall return to the Lodge, freshen up, have lunch, and then head back to Kampala.
