4 Days Double Gorilla Trekking Uganda Experience – Double Tracking of a Lifetime in Uganda
4 Days Double Gorilla Trekking Uganda experience is a life-changing experience. 2 times Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which covers an area of 321 sq km, and is among the oldest forests lasting over 25,000 years. You will be able to trek one of the 19 habituated mountain gorilla groups.
Besides the Gorillas, you will also have the opportunity to see other primates, including red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, and black-and-white colobus monkeys.
Gorilla trekking takes around 2 to 8 hours, which is worth it, as those into hiking will have a great time climbing up and down the rolling hills and going through the lush vegetation. You will also enjoy the magical Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Depart Kampala/Entebbe for your Uganda Gorilla Trekking safari, which takes about an 8-hour drive. The journey is quite a long drive, but it is worth it because you get to enjoy the countryside scenery and some of the most beautiful natural images of the Virunga massif.
Keep your cameras nearby to capture that beautiful moment. You will have an en route stopover at the Equator crossing for a photo and a simple experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for lunch. After lunch, you will embark on your scenic drive to Bwindi National Park.
Dinner and overnight: Rushaga Gorilla Haven Lodge/ Trekkers Tavern Lodge/ Mahogany Springs.
Day 2: First Gorilla tracking and community walk.
After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and join others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and don’ts during your 2-time Uganda Gorilla trekking safari tour.
Proceed for a memorable adventure in the forest. Gorilla trekking may take 2-6 hours, depending on the animals’ movements. Meet and stay with the animals for a maximum of one hour, then descend to the Park headquarters and then to your Lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Later, head out for an evening community walk to meet the nearby Batwa people. During this visit, enjoy their traditional entertainment and listen to captivating stories about their unique culture.
Dinner and overnight; Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge/ Trekkers Tavern Lodge/ Mahogany Springs.
Day 3: Second Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
On this day, following the same procedure as on the first gorilla tracking adventure, you will follow a different gorilla group, different from the one you tracked on the previous day.
On return from the tracking, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the world’s freshwater lakes, free of Bilharzia.
Overnight: Arcadia cottages/Bunyonyi overland camp.
Day 4: Transfer to Kampala.
Have morning breakfast, and then you will enjoy a boat ride along the lake and tour around the many islands on the lake, and have a scenic view of the well-terraced hills around the lake.
Afterwards, begin your journey back to Kampala, stopping for lunch and photography along the way. Once you arrive in the late afternoon, transfer to your Hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your departure.
