4 Days Double Gorilla Trekking Uganda experience is a life-changing experience. 2 times Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park it covers an area of 321 sq km and is among the oldest forests lasting over 25,000 years. You will be able to trek one of the 19 habituated mountain gorilla groups.
Besides the Gorillas, you will also have an opportunity to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, black and white Colobus monkeys among others.
Gorilla trekking takes around 2 to 8 hours, which is worth it as those into hiking will have a great time climbing up and about the rolling hills, and going through the lush vegetation. You will also enjoy the magical lake known as Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Depart Kampala/Entebbe for your Uganda Gorilla Trekking safari which takes about 8 hours drive. The journey is quite a long drive but worth it because you get to enjoy the countryside scenery, some of the most beautiful natural images all the way to the Virunga massive.
Keep your cameras near to capture that beautiful moment. You will have an en-route stopover at the Equator crossing for the photographic and simple experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for Lunch. After lunch, you will embark on your scenic drive to Bwindi National Park.
Dinner and overnight: Rushaga Gorilla Haven Lodge/ Trekkers Tavern Lodge/ Mahogany springs.
Day 2: First Gorilla tracking and community walk.
After early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your 2 times Uganda Gorilla trekking safari tour.
Proceed for the memorable adventure in the forest, gorilla trekking may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the animals.
Meet and stay with the animals for a maximum of one hour, then descend to the park headquarters and then to your Lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the evening, you may go for a community walk in the nearby Batwa community, where you will be entertained and given tales of their unique culture.
Dinner and overnight; Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge/ Trekkers Tavern Lodge/ Mahogany springs.
Day 3: Second Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable forest.
On this day, following the same procedure like on the first gorilla tracking adventure, you will follow a different gorilla group, different from the one track on the previous day.
On return from the tracking, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the world’s freshwater lakes, free of Bilharzia.
Overnight: Arcadia cottages/Bunyonyi overland camp.
Day 4: Transfer to Kampala.
Have morning breakfast and then you will enjoy a boat ride along the lake and rotate around the many islands on the lake and have a scenic view of the well-terraced hills around the lake.
Later set off for your journey back to Kampala with stopovers for photography and lunch reaching late in the afternoon, and you will be transferred to your hotel/Entebbe Airport for your departure flight.
